Diabetes Camps

Diabetes camps offer specialization in caring for the needs of diabetic children, including an understanding of the need for blood sugar monitoring, the ready availability of Epi-Pens and monitoring of exertion and activity levels. A camp to come back to. Recent research shows that campers at such camps often come away with improved control and understanding of their blood sugar. Camps for children and youth focused on diabetes have a high return rate for campers. The camping environment is used as a teaching opportunity for children with diabetes and this allows them to gain skills in managing the disease considerably.
