Programming Camps

Programming camps let kids indulge in their love for creating things using code. Many programming camps are run by universities and colleges. Kids aged seven and up can find programs tailored to their knowledge level and interest. Programs immerse kids in the fun, creative world of computer science and application development. Most programming camps have summer day programs lasting a week but there are also March break and holiday camps. Help your budding programmer develop skills at a day camp and meet other kids with this shared interest.

Programming camps are one of the most popular choices in summer camps for kids and teens today. Some camps may offer technology-related activities mixed with other curricula, while others rightfully deserve to be called "computer camps," where kids can learn programming, design and a variety of other technical and creative skills. A blend of technology and fun is the main feature or attraction of these camps. Many programming camps offer a variety of courses for all ages and skills though campers are usually between 8 to 18 years old.

Several college and university campuses conduct programming camps as they have existing computer labs and other facilities. Camps teach subjects like hardware, networking, programming, game design, image manipulation, video production, web design, robotics and software applications. Video editing, animation and other multimedia programs are also taught.
