Blog Hopping: Private School Expos
Aaaaah. September. New beginnings. New school year, new friends, new shoes. The smell of freshly sharpened pencils wafts through the air.
I don’t know about you, but fall brings so many school memories back to me — favorite teachers, memories, lasting friendships, and more. As I prepare my kids for their new academic year, I always feel like waxing nostalgic about my own school days, reveries which then inspire them to spill their favourites as well.
My favourite teacher was actually my Grade 1 teacher. Her name was Claire. I can’t remember what she looked like, but what I do recall is her warmth, gentleness and encouragement as I transitioned to my new private school and the inherent changes that accompanied a full school day. Claire taught me to read, to tie my shoes, and to line up for recess. She helped me make friends, and let me sit on her lap during story-time. When the year ended, and Claire left our school to go to another, I was devastated. Everytime I pass a MiniSchool (even to this day) I think of Claire and my amazing Grade 1 experiences with her.
It’s time for us to host our Canada-Wide Private School Expos. To get the excitement about education up to fever pitch, we’re hosting our first annual #OKSchoolMem Blog Hop!
We’ve got some incredible bloggers particicpating in our Blog Hop, so don’t forget to follow along!
