Once again my mom picked me up from school and we headed into the city. This time it was to attend the Paralympic Opening Ceremony.
It was an amazing ceremony. Everyone was so energized. I hope that all of the athletes have a fantastic time! My favorite mascot made an appearance – go Sumi!
- Go Sumi
- Prime Minister Harper and Premier Campbell and Mayor Robertson were there cheering on the athletes
- My favorite part was when Mr and Mrs Fox came in with the torch. The crowd went wild!
- They lit the torches of the others.
- A 15 year old snowboarder then lit the cauldron. He is hoping that one day snowboarding will be a part of the Paralympics.
- It got pretty festive once the cauldron was lit
- On the way home we drove by the outside cauldron.
