My Paralympic View 5: Alessia

Paralympics – Thursday, March 18

This morning my dad and I went out to the Paralympic 10km Nordic Classic race.  We were hoping to see Brian McKeever win a gold and of course he did not disappoint us!  In the meantime, my mom went off to the Alpine skiing.  She saw both Lauren Woolstencroft  and Viviane Forest win gold in their competitions.  Of course she was also happy that several Americans won medals that day.  After watching McKeever win gold my dad and I headed over to the Alpine skiing.  Upon arriving there we stopped off at the lounge for a snack.  They had the Canadian vs Japan sledge hockey game on the TV so we ended up watching the game rather than watching the Alpine!  We love hockey!!! We were quite sad that Canada did not win.

After getting to see all of the exciting competitions, we decided to go to the last Medal Ceremony at the Medals Plaza.  It was rocking!

There were tons of people there cheering on the athletes. Here is a picture of the McKeevers.

Here's a picture of the big screen showing the raising of the flags during McKeever's ceremony. Unfortunately we couldn't see the flags as we were standing on the other side of plaza.
