Sharon and Bram Help Raise Money for Kids in Camp

Famous children’s entertainers Sharon and Bram help bring the joys of music and camp to children in a fundraising concert on Sunday, April 17. The event, also featuring a silent auction, crafts, magician and snacks, raises money for Kids In Camp charity to help send children to camp.

On Tuesday, March 8th, 2011, Appleby College hosted its fifth annual Race for Dignity challenge in support of Dignitas International – a medical humanitarian organization dedicated to providing a quality of life with dignity for children, youth, and families affected by HIV/AIDS in the developing world. The event raised $36,000.

One of the greatest qualities of summer camp is the close-knit community that returns every year to teach, learn, and have fun. Campers take the one or two weeks out of the whole year they spend at camp to build lifelong friendships with their peers, and the familiar faces of staff become role models who leave a lasting impact that extends beyond the summer. Many campers call themselves “Lifers” – people who will always be involved in camp life. Two of Camp Robin Hood’s lifers, and founders, are Larry and Pearl Bell, who will be marking their 50th year at camp this summer.
