Thank you for your feedback!

OurKids.net is nothing without our audience of parents and families searching for information about private education in Canada. Whether surveying parents at our private school expos, hearing directly from clients or through feedback on our website, we always want to hear what people have to say about our sources and tools and how we can better serve Canadian parents researching education and summer camp options.

Recently we’ve experimented with Kampyle.com a web service that surveys website users and compiles their feedback. Feedback we received was varied, though mostly positive and we heard many helpful comments from users.

Ourkids.net website review feedback form.

Parents provide feedback on ourkids.net school and camp search tools.

Many people were simply complimentary. A typical compliment was “I was looking for some information on a particular school and I found exactly what I was looking for, thanks.” There were numerous other straight out compliments. Thank you for that!

We were especially pleased to hear about instances where parents found our site helpful in making an important decision for their family. That what we’re all about! We love hearing comments like this: “Found a great camp for my teenage son to go this summer using your website.”

Some users gave suggestions for content we should add, including one user who suggested that we add career information. We believe very strongly in providing parents with information so we are pleased (and a bit amused) when we hear comments like “The site told me that there was a military school in Canada!”

We did receive some complaints inevitably. Some of these in fact were about the feedback form itself, because it showed up too quickly in users’ interactions. “havnt even been on the site long enough to gain any info on what i was after when you surveyed me [sic].”

Probably the most common complaint we received was about the lack of completeness in our listings. One guest very kindly wrote, “I would like to see overnight summer camps listed for Alberta in your directory. I am having a hard time finding some. Every year I search and every year it takes so long. You have such a nice website but we really don’t have the time to travel out of province to take the kids to one. Thank you.”

This highlights an issue we face constantly at ourkids.net; we would love to list all of the private schools and camps across Canada but the sheer amount of research and upkeep it would take to cover the subject makes this impractical. We are a private company, relying on schools and camps to list here and maintain their own information. We can list all private schools and contact info but even this information changes often: schools and camps move or close and new ones open.

We are always listening to parents to find out how we can best serve their needs, questions and concerns about education choices for their children. Tell us how we can improve our website and tools. Comment below or use the Kampyle form in the bottom right hand corner.

 Thank you for your feedback!
