Camp Friends

Hello. My name is Bella. This coming summer will be my 13th summer going to Camp Wabikon! I have been going to camp for a LONG time, and people always ask me questions like "what's the very best thing about camp?". In all my camp years, the answer has always been the same. The people! Life-long friends from all around the world. Now you might be confused, you might say that you have friends everywhere too, so why are camp friends so special? Because camp brings out the best in you. It makes you look past everyone's fancy cloths, and the brands, and where they’re from, and leaves behind the real them. That's why camp friends are best!
My mom says "you are the best version of yourself at camp" and it's true. I love how the people at camp aren't only from Canada. They are from all over. And I mean ALL over! This year, I had friends from Australia, California, Israel, Mexico, and the United States! I also had counsellors from Spain, USA, Italy and Australia.
At school this year I had to do a test of about 28 countries around the world, and I found myself remembering cabin 5's fun rest hours where we would play cards. Except two of us spoke Spanish, two of us English and two of us French! All in all camp is an amazing experience where you can meet the most amazing people, and learn the most important life lessons. I hope I never stop going to camp.

Making Friends & Having Fun

Camp Wabikon is a place where you can have fun and make friends. There are lots of fun activities to do such as drama, snorkelling, arts and crafts, music, fishing, speed stacking, camp craft, tripping, biking, paddle making, kayaking, sailing, cance and canoeing. There are also some activities at camp that are even more exciting like archery and ropes.

Camp is fun!

Camp Wabikon is a fun place. There are a lot of fun activities that you can do. I’m really glad that we have all the amazing counsellors. And what would camp be without CITs and all the friends that you make. It’s the most wonderful place in the world! All the wonderful nature and wildlife too. Every day you do a new thing! Sports, canoeing, archery, fishing, camp craft, drama and dance are just a few of the activities. There are some special activities like canoe tripping and Big Day. Some of the things you bring back other than clothes, special belongings and anything else you bring to camp, is good and fun memories that you make. A lot of people that go to my camp have probably heard or seen something called the burning W. It’s an amazing site to see on the last night of camp. One more special thing about camp is the island across from camp called John’s Island. Blueberries grow on it all over!

Camp

Camp is the most amazing place I’ve ever been. Not only is it the most beautiful place that you will ever see, but is also has nature and animals that will blow you mind! I have had some of my best adventures there and have met some people who I’m sure will be my life-long friends. Camp can make you nervous at times, but with loving friends and counsellors around you, your fears will disappear. And with that little fear of doing new things gone, you can do anything! Like archery, swimming, geocaching, biking, ropes, drama and sports, just to name a few. Camp has a variety of other activities that you do with your cabin mates too. There are also a few “special” challenges like the tripping challenge! There are so many things to do at camp that it’s impossible to tell you about them all.. But out of it all, I would have to say that the best part of camp is all of the caring and understanding friends that you’ll meet. By the end of camp they will become not only your friends but also your family.
