If you’re looking for inspiring STEM education, this is the right place! In each camp, kids make something awesome, create their own projects and collaborate with others.

We aim to create a transformative experience for kids to empower them to be creators, not consumers, find their inner talents and discover skills they can use throughout their lives.

Design the world around you! In our Robotics camp, kids will design, plan, program, and build an electronic invention while using an Arduino and learning how to code. Kids will better understand how everyday objects around them work and will have the opportunity to bring their ideas to life. An Arduino is a microcontroller, a small computer used as the brain of the robot which can be programmed to control the way buttons, motors, switches, sensors, lights, and other electronic parts interact. They are used by industry professionals and were used to prototype the Square Reader!

In this innovative camp, kids will learn how to program lights, sounds and movement. With key design and robotics skills explored, there’s no telling what kids could make!

Light, motion, and sound classes act as an intro to new wiring techniques/programming structure and scientific principles behind them (e.g. electromagnetism converting electricity into motion). During freebuild, kids will experiment and create a whacky instrument (e.g. first day may entail coding a song, then on the second day kid can add lights and moving parts).

Kids will work with other kids to design and test their robots. Breaks, games and park time is also included for kids to exercise their imagination, have fun and strengthen team building.

Project-Based Learning

Make something awesome, create your own inventions and collaborate with others! We aim to create a transformative experience for kids to empower them to be the leaders of tomorrow with the skills and mindsets to create a better world.

21st Century Skills

Students work in teams to solve problems as well as create their own designs and inventions. Combining on- and off-screen work, our programs will advance skills in communication, leadership, design and critical thinking.

How do our Camps Work?

Our day camp runs from Monday to Friday from 9am to 3:30pm. Before and after care is available (only at MakerKids location 2451 Bloor St. West). Students are immersed in a world of creativity, innovation and real-world skills. We have summer camps in all our topics (Robotics, Coding and Minecraft) as well as Sampler camps, which touch on each topic throughout the week.

Bloor: Before care: 8-9am, Camp: 9am-3:30pm, After Care, 3:30-6pm

Uptown: Camp: 9am-3:30pm.

If you require After Care for York School Camps, do let us know and select the After Care Option in registration. After care will be held offsite at Unicorn Day Care at 454 Avenue Rd, Toronto, ON M4V 2J1. Separate registration will need to be filled at http://www.unicorndaycare.com. Payment to be completed by Unicorn Daycare as well. We will walk kids over to Unicorn for After Care where they will be picked up at 6pm
