Director's Message

Teresa Ward, Camp Director

It has been my pleasure to be the Director of Monarch Bible Camp since 1999. Honestly, when I said Yes" to this ministry, I didn't know what I was getting myself in for.  It has been an incredible ride and I have learned to trust God in all things.  We have gone from 2 Day Camps and 1 week of Resident Camp to a week of VBS, 6 weeks of Day Camps and we continue with our Resident Camp program knowing the impact it has on campers and staff alike. Camp is that special place where kids get to be silly, have fun, learn that God loves them, make lifelong friends and learn skills that will benefit them for their entire life.  Where else does a child have the full attention of teenage and young adult leaders?

Monarch is that special place for many children.  We run a full camp program in day time and overnight settings.  Our goal is to provide a safe and caring environment in which children can grow, explore, relate and create.  Our camps are kept small so we can easily relate and get to know each camper. Our biggest feature is our caring, loving staff who take the time and make the effort to make camp "THE BEST!" for each camper.

Stories & Testimonials

Support Staff

Over the course of this summer I have grown a lot in I my faith with God.  During the year, I start to get farther and farther from God, but then I come back to camp.  I read my Bible more and get closer to God.  The people I got to work with this summer were amazing and I am so happy I got to know some of them better.  I have developed a strong relationship with all of them and I don’t think we would have been able to complete the summer as smoothly as we did without them.  We have lots of great discussions with each other around cam fires and basically everywhere.  They have definitely helped me grow in my faith and helped me understand God like have never understood Him before.  I love working at camp because I love kids and I love seeing kids learn about God and ask Him into their life.  Camp is a lot of fun and is one of the only jobs where you are surrounded by good Christian people who will help you grow in your faith.  Even when the kids get difficult, at the end of the day it is worth it because you can see the difference you have made in their life and you know it’s for a good cause.  Even if you don’t make an in sane amount of money, it is al still worth it because it is for such an important cause. These are the reasons why I love and camp why it is so much fun to work at Monarch Bible Camp.  There aren’t many things I would rather be doing than working at camp.  I hope I can continue to share the Word of God wherever I go.

Emerson Earle – 2nd year

Drama Director

When I was around the age of 6, I decided that I wanted to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour at Monarch Bible Camp.  When I was a camper I would always look up to the staff and tell myself that one day I would be like them. I was always able to have a lot of fun at camp and I was also able to learn about God.  Now that I am a staff member, I understand that it is my job to share the Good News with campers and having this opportunity is special.  I am so glad that I came back to work here for my 3rd year and that I am able to make camp fun for kids.  Another reason why camp has impacted me greatly is because of the friendships I have made with other staff.  It is so encouraging being surrounded by Christian people all summer and sharing and discussing faith every day. I am truly thankful for all the connections I have made throughout the years.  Someone who has impacted me greatly during my faith journey is Teresa.  Without her knowledge, kind heart and willingness to serve, I wouldn’t have seen what it means to be a true Christian.  We have known each other for a while and she is a huge role model and I look up to her.  I’d say my favourite week of camp would be resident camp because I am able to connect with campers on a deeper level.  In all my years of coming to camp, from being a camper to becoming a staff I have truly seen God work in many peoples’ lives and being able to hear some staff speak about their different experiences is amazing and a moment when I realize how great our God is and how powerful He is.

Victoria Cina – 3rd year

Music Director

Camp has had a huge impact on me this summer.  I have seen God working in my life as well as the campers and staff’s lives.  This, being my 4tth year working at Monarch, I have noticed a huge change in myself in my confidence.  Having conversations with the other staff members has encouraged me to strengthen my faith and to draw closer to God.  Working at camp has taught me many valuable lessons about trusting in God and having complete faith in Him.  Seeing Him answer prayers in my life this summer has really touched me.  To add, my position as Music Director has also impacted me greatly this summer.  While leading songs, I often take breaks and mouth the words. During this time hearing the children singing boldly touches me deeply and I remember the innocence and boldness children possess.  Like it says in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”   I am so thankful for the opportunity to work at camp, it has made all of the difference in my life.
