Bright Lights in the Lab

For two weeks in July, our science labs became research stations where students from Grades 5 through Grade 12 met a variety of invertebrates and learned about the basic principles of neuroscience that makes us who we are.  Each student was able to increase their expertise in reading and analyzing science papers, designed their own experiments, analyzed their data, and presented their results to friends, family and Professors from the University of Toronto on the final day. There were also field trips.  Students spent a day touring the labs at the Donnelly Center at U of T, visited the Gerstein Library and our Junior Bright Lights spent an afternoon at the Innovation Hub at the Toronto Reference Library where they were certified in 3D printing.

Planning is underway for our Bright Lights 2020, which will be held at UTS from July 6 -17. Bright Lights in the Lab is the only camp where students have the opportunity to gain hands on experience and develop their own, open ended scientific experiments in a laboratory setting.
