TAC Sports “Be Extraordinary” Contest
Participants can participate through Video or Photo. They can upload either a Youtube Video or Facebook or Instagram picture and share it with tacsports by emailing [email protected] AND leave the hashtag #tacsportsbeextraordinary.
CONTEST DETAILS
VIDEO Participants are required to submit a video entry of 30 seconds or less capturing a well-executed skill in one of the following sports or athletic activities:
The contestants must include the wording ‘Be Extra-Ordinary” in the Video and must explain the skill they are attempting to execute.
PHOTO Participants are required to submit a photo entry capturing a well-executed skill in one of the following sports or athletic activities. Photo submissions also require the submission of a 140 word caption about how the students want to be extra-ordinary.
Contestants will be judged on their

2. Eligibility Criteria
2.1 To participate in the Contest, Entrants (“Entrants” or “Participants”) must send their video entry (“Video”), or their photo (“Photo”), and a completed Entry Form (together the “Contest Entry”) to Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. before the end of the Contest deadline. Photo submissions also require the submission of a 140 word caption about how the students want to be extra-ordinary. The Entry Form must include the Entrant’s name, date of birth, address and an e-mail address where s/he can be contacted by TAC Sports. No purchase or entry fee is required.
2.2 Entrants must be: Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada or protected persons designated by the Immigration and Refugee Board or Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
2.3 Entry Forms from Entrants under the age of majority in their province or territory of permanent residence must include the signed consent of the Entrant’s parent or legal guardian.
2.4 Contest judges, Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. employees, Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. teacher champions, Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. advisory committee members, Department of Finance employees, Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. collaborators, contractors, and their immediate families, are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
2.5 Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. reserves the right to request verification of these eligibility criteria from the Entrant at any time.
2.6 Any incomplete or fraudulent entries will be rejected. Any Entrant or other individual who enters or attempts to enter the Contest in a manner contrary to the Rules and Regulations or which is otherwise disruptive to the proper operation of the Contest or by its nature is unjust to other Entrants or potential Entrants or for any other reason at the sole discretion of Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. will be rejected and that Entrant or purported Entrant will be disqualified from the Contest by Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. without notice.
3. Submission Criteria
3.1 All Videos or Photos must be taken and submitted by the Entrant for the purpose of entering the Contest and not have been previously published in any format whatsoever, in Jpeg, GIF or PNG format.
3.2 Videos or Photos must depict how the Entrant is learning sports skills. The caption should be used to further explain the Photo.
3.3 Videos or Photos Photos must be original works created by the Entrant.
3.4 Videos or Photos must not contain any reference to or likeness of any identifiable third parties, unless written consent has been obtained from all such individuals (and the individual’s parent/legal guardian if they are under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence). The original copy of the written consent must be provided to Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. upon Toronto Athletic Camps Inc.’s request. If the individual does not provide such consent Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. may disqualify the individual from participating in the Contest and/or redeeming any prize awarded to the individual.
3.5 Videos or Photos must conform with Facebook’s and Toronto Athletic Camps Inc.’s upload and technical requirements, website terms of use and other policies found HERE.
3.6 Videos or Photos must not be defamatory, trade libelous, pornographic or obscene as determined by Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. in its sole discretion and must not contain, depict, include, discuss or involve, any combination of the following without limitation:
• the promotion, endorsement or discussion of any unlawful, harmful, threatening, or abusive activity or conduct vulgar or offensive language and/or images nudity, graphic or explicit sexuality hateful, derogatory or otherwise offensive or objectionable characterizations or generalizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious groups.
• reference to or endorsement by any political parties.
• personal information of individuals, including names and addresses (physical or email).
• commercial messages, endorsements, comparisons or solicitations for products or services (other than FCAC products or services) or for any organization or individual providing such products or services.
• any identifiable third party products and/or trade-marks, brands, logos or intellectual property, and
• any other content that is or could be considered inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, as determined by FCAC in its sole discretion or pursuant to Facebook terms and conditions or policies.
3.7 Only one Video or Photo per person may be submitted.
3.8 Entrants are solely responsible for ensuring that their Videos or Photos is submitted in and received in compliance with these Rules and Regulations.
3.9 All Videos or Photos submitted to Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. become the property of Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. and will not be returned to the Entrant (Entrants should keep a copy).
4. Judging
4.1 Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. will select up to twelve finalists who will be contacted at the email address provided on their Entry Form.
4.2 In addition, by December 12, 2014, a panel of three judges, including Toronto Athletic Camps Inc.’s Commissioner and two judges selected by TAC Sports, will select in their sole discretion the top three Photos from the finalists based on originality, quality and adherence to the theme who will be awarded prizes in accordance with section 5. The winners will be contacted at the e-mail address provided on their Entry Form.
4.3 Once notified by Toronto Athletic Camps Inc., the winners must contact Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. by email at [email protected] within five (5) days of receiving the notice by e-mail to acknowledge that they accept the prize and they provide proof of residence, parental or guardian consent and any other permissions or information requested by Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. in its sole discretion. If the individual does not provide such information or the information is not acceptable to Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. or if the individual does not contact Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. within this timeframe, or if there is any reason a winner cannot accept the prize as awarded, his/her entry will be declared null and void, and Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. may choose an alternate winner from the remaining finalists. Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. will not be held responsible for unsuccessful attempts to notify an individual due to incorrect or incomplete contact information provided by the individual.
4.4 The winners’ names may be announced and posted on the FCAC website or published by any other means by March 7th, 2015. All decisions of Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. and Contest judges with respect to the Contest are final without right of appeal.
5. Prizes
First Place: Full Week of Full Day March Break Camp and Merchandise (approximate value $450)
• Second Place: Full Week of Half Day Camp and Merchandise (approximate value $250)
• Third Place: Development Program and Merchandise (Approximate Value $225)
5.2 Participants’ chances of winning will depend on the number of Participants in the Contest and the quality and adherence of the Videos to the Rules and Regulations. Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. reserves the right not to award prizes for any reason.
5.3 Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-redeemable for any cash value. Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. reserves the right to make prize substitutions of equivalent monetary value.
5.4 Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. will pay the costs to deliver the prizes to the winner’s home address. Each winner will be responsible for all costs or expenses related to set-up, installation of additional software, service plans and any technical support in connection with the prizes.
6.Use of Photos by TAC Sports
6.1 By entering the Contest and submitting a Contest Entry, Entrants consent to: (1) the use of their Video in accordance with these Rules and Regulations including the viewing and sharing of the Photo with the public on Toronto Athletic Camps Inc.’s Facebook page subject to the terms and conditions and policies of Facebook; (2) license all intellectual property rights in and to the Video to Toronto Athletic Camps Inc.; and (3) waive all of their moral rights in and to the Video in favour of Toronto Athletic Camps Inc..
6.2 At any time Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. may, including but without limitation: upload, reformat, edit, translate the caption, copy, reproduce, display, distribute, sub-license, transmit by telecommunication, and make the Photos accessible and available on Toronto Athletic Camps Inc.’s website and Toronto Athletic Camps Inc.’s Facebook page or by any other means without notice or compensation to the Entrants/Finalists/Winners. Videos or Photos may also be used for future promotional purposes in connection with the Contest or Toronto Athletic Camps Inc.’s activities, without limitation and without further notice or compensation. Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. is under no obligation to use the Videos or Photos as provided herein.
7. Use of Personal Information
7.1 By entering the Contest and submitting a Contest Entry, Entrants expressly consent to the collection, use, storage and disclosure of their personal information by Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. for the purposes of administering the Contest as well as for the other purposes expressly contemplated in these Rules and Regulations in accordance with the federal Privacy Act. Entrants expressly consent that Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. may use the Entrants’ personal information to communicate with them and to announce and/or post the names and locations of the finalists and winners on the Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. website and the TAC Sports Facebook page or by any other means in connection with the Videos or Photos.
8. Disclaimers and Exclusion of Liability
8.1 Toronto Athletic Camps Inc., its director’s, employees, servants, agents, contractors, assigns or successors assume no responsibility for Contest Entries that are lost, stolen, tampered with, late, damaged, misdirected, received through impermissible channels, illegible or unintelligible for any reason or for any other circumstance that may limit an individual’s ability to participate in the Contest or otherwise affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal course of the Contest, including without limitation any combination of the following:
• inaccessibility of, technical problems with or failure of the Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. website, Facebook page, email, any telephone, cable network or transmission system, servers, access providers, computer or other equipment, or software traffic congestion on the Internet
• any virus, computer bug, unauthorized human intervention or any other cause beyond the control of Toronto Athletic Camps Inc., and any human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing or judging of Entries.
8.2 Toronto Athletic Camps Inc., its Commissioner, employees, servants, agents, contractors, assigns and successors will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage of any kind caused by or resulting from an Entrant’s participation or attempted participation in the Contest, compliance or non-compliance with these Contest Rules and Regulations or an Entrant’s acceptance, use or misuse of any prize awarded to the Entrant.
8.3 Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. will not be liable to any Entrant for any indirect, special, consequential or punitive damages in connection with the Contest or these Rules and Regulations.
9. General
9.1. Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. reserves the right to exclude from its Facebook page any Contest Entry that does not comply with these Rules and Regulations or for any reason that Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. determines in its sole discretion without notice at any time.
9.2. Toronto Athletic Camps Inc. reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the Contest in whole or in part at any time without notice for any reason at its sole discretion.
9.3. The Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial, and territorial laws. This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. For residents of Québec, any litigation respecting the conduct and awarding of the prizes in this Contest may be submitted to la Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
