Have you ever thought about how much a short Summer course can inspire you and influence your future for the better? We have looked into some of the famous people you know that started their futures at Summer camps.. from award winning actors to multi billion dollar enterprises to U.S presidents.
Firstly, Mark Zuckerburg a man known for his computer programming and entrepreneurship in the flagship social network used by over a billion people, Facebook. Mr Zuckerburg attended not a technology camp but a regular camp in the U.S where he enjoyed as a normal teenager. It was here where he developed skills and understood his capabilities- who would have known he was going on to change the digital world as we know it. Here at Academic Camp Canada we are introducing our new Computer Science course for aspiring technology students similar to Mark Zuckerberg. As part of this course students can learn about programming, app development and even robotics- we are so close to the silicon valley it would be a shame not to explore your technology passions!
Our next stop is the classic T.V sitcom 'Friends'. David Schwimmer started his career at a Summer Camp suggested by his teacher at school. It was this experience of exploring his interests and subjects of choice that inspired his decision to attend University, here he would achieve a bachelor degree in speech/theatre before going on to be one of the most famous actors in T.V and film. As a student at Academic Camp Canada we provide a flexible timetable where you can explore your interests and passions, students aged 12-14 will enjoy a series of subjects to explore the subjects they are interested in whilst developing academic skills. Whilst students aged 15-18 will select their subjects from a list of 14, including the core maths, english and sciences whilst they can try something different such as Computer Science, Academic French and entrepreneurship.
Believe it or not many presidents have spent time at Summer Camps during their youth. The 40th president of the United Sates Ronald Reagan claimed his favourite time was spent at Summer camps completing fun activities and exploring nature with new found friends. From Theodore Roosevelt to George Bush many influential politicians have spent their Summers as youths learning and exploring. At Academic Camp Canada you can explore with friends from all around the world as part of our leisure programme, students will enjoy time on our beautiful campus doing sports such as swimming, kayaking, badminton and basketball! Students enjoy trips to local attractions including whale watching and to provincial parks where they will enjoy Summer walks and viewing of waterfalls in the amazing Canadian outdoors!
