Why Kids Camp is Good for the Whole Family

Summertime is time for playing outside with friends, late bedtimes, and catching fireflies.

But it can also have so many other benefits for your kids, especially time spent at camp. Not only does camp provide fun activities and a watchful eye while parents are at work, it also helps to foster good habits, great friendships and lifelong skills!

What are the benefits of Kids Photography Camp to you & your family? Here are just a few:

  1. Finding a Summer Routine: Our 2 week program, from 9am-3pm with before & aftercare available, will give parents the flexibility to continue their regular work routine, without the stress of irregular camp hours or a changing daily schedule. The length of the program also allows kids to get into the groove of things, rather than wrapping it up as soon as they get used to it.
  2. Sparking creativity: When your child comes home with photographs that will blow your mind the whole family will be inspired! Time and time again, parents approach us at the end of camp to ask about our Adult Classes. Creativity has no age limit!
  3. Building confidence: Some campers are quite shy on day 1, but in almost all cases campers really come out of their shell once the games and projects begin. Camp is a special zone that has no ranking system – there are no ‘cool kids’ and ‘uncool kids’. And with staff that have experience including kids of varying abilities, our camps have become really conducive to confidence and friendship building for kids. There’s no better news to parents than hearing that your child was the most talkative in critique today or that they were great at that cooperative game, especially if that child is very quiet in school. It’s a confidence booster for both of you!
  4. Gain a Family Photographer: Forget about holidays and events without proper photo documentation! After Photography Kids Camp, you’ll have your very own family photographer. Ok, they may need a bit more training before they can do next year’s Christmas photo. But that’s what Portraiture Camp is for!

This year we’ve added a new camp for Kids ages 6-8 years old in their very own Photography Camp! These lucky campers will get to know how to use their cameras and the fun things they can do with them. With a focus on hands-on art projects and special photography assignments, these campers will explore the creative side of image making in a unique, one-of-a-kind camp environment!
