Are you ready for some family-friendly fun in the sun? The Town of Oakville is gearing up for the fourth-annual Oakville Children’s Festival this Sunday, July 9, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Coronation Park.
Oakville’s beautiful lakeside park will once again transform into an arts and culture playground for kids of all ages and abilities.
“I am so pleased to see yet another opportunity for children and families to get involved in this tremendous event, free of charge,” Mayor Rob Burton said. “Giving kids the opportunity to engage in arts and culture at an early age strengthens our cultural community and makes Oakville a better, more livable place for residents of all ages.”
Exciting opportunities for inspiration and learning will continue throughout the park with hands-on building and art activities, dance and music lessons, interactive shows, City Parent Fun Zone and Scavenger Hunt, skateboard ramp, face painting, vintage fire truck, robotics, Oakville Hydro bucket rides, and more!
There is no parking inside Coronation Park and on-street parking is extremely limited. Free bike parking will be available at the festival. Residents and out-of-town guests are encouraged to take the free Oakville Transit shuttle service. Service from Bronte GO Station (west-end bus loop) begins at 9:30 a.m. with buses operating approximately every five minutes to and from the festival. The last shuttle leaves Coronation Park at 5 p.m. All festival events to end by 4 p.m.
Visitors are reminded to bring sunscreen, a blanket and a reusable bottle for the free water refill stations. The Town of Oakville is committed to providing smoke-free outdoor spaces where kids play. Due to large crowds and event excitement, visitors are encouraged to leave their pets at home.
Festival admission is free and the event will take place rain or shine. Coronation Park is located at 1426 Lakeshore Road West. Visit the Oakville Children's Festival page for the full event schedule.
