This fun and exciting course allows youth 14-17 to explore their imagination and sample various techniques with a hands-on approach in traditional and contemporary methods, to find their own artistic voice. Through (life) drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, assemblage, mixed media, students learn technical skills, knowledge of contemporary visual arts and art history, and are encouraged to develop their own personal creative process. Field trips to museums and galleries are also an integral part of the program.
Schedule:
Week 1 - Tuesday to Thursday 10 am to 4 pm; Friday 10 am to 1 pm (4 days)
Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 10 am to 4 pm; Friday 10 am to 1 pm (5 days)
Each day will include a 30-minute lunch; Fridays will have a shorter lunch.
Tuition: $590 + Materials fee $65 = $655 (44 hours of instruction and field trips!)
