Children from homes where literacy is valued are naturally provided the ingredients needed for strong language development. These children grow up with books, are read to regularly, are spoken to, sang to and immersed in interaction and activities that develop their oral vocabulary and knowledge of the world. If children in these environments have any weaknesses in the area of language learning, their family and teachers help them get the support they need.
The Reading Network is conducting an anonymous online survey to learn more about the steps parents take at home to support their children to become strong readers and services and tools they have used. This will help us provide your children with the best services possible -- the services you want and need.
We would be most grateful for your participation!
