Do you often dream up ideas and inventions – but rarely ever get the chance to bring them to life? Using a combination of high tech tools (3D printing, laser cutting, electronics), wood working and craft, we provide the mentorship and structure to help you turn your sketched ideas into working prototypes – led by your own interests, imagination and ingenuity.
Whether you’re bursting with ideas, or you’re not sure what you’re interested in, we will guide you from idea to plan to making.
Here are some of the technologies students will have the opportunity to work with:
WHAT: 6 Week Program (3 hours per week)
WHERE: STEAMLabs, 192 Spadina Avenue (Queen and Spadina)
Note: If main entrance is closed, please use our back entrance at 49 Cameron Street, which is accessible through the parking lot 200m south of the building.
TIME: 1pm – 4pm
Round 1 | Saturday 24th March – 5th May, 2018 [skips Easter weekend March 31st]
Round 2 | Saturday 12th May – 23rd June, 2018 [skips Victoria Day weekend May 19th]
Round 1 | Sunday 25th Mar – 6th May, 2018 [skips Easter weekend April 1st]
Round 2 | Sunday 13th May – 24th June, 2018 [skips Victoria Day weekend May 20th]
$300 / 6 week program (includes required $60 robotics kit that can be reused at future programs!)
We offer a limited number of program scholarships. The application deadline is one month before the program begins and we will get back to successful scholarship recipients about 1-2 weeks before the program begins!
