STEM Lab Robotics, Unit 205-600 Laurelwood Drive, Waterloo, Ontario
Join us Monday, March 12 from 09:00 am - 04:00 pm

Keep your hands dirty with technology and try new things in Robotics, Virtual Reality, and Game Development:

Our Futuristic Camp is specifically designed for young technology lovers to explore the world of coding, robotics, game development, and engineering in a stimulating and fun learning environment.

Our programs include instruction-based learning as well as team-based projects to challenge the kids. With a focus on a different topic every day, the kids will not only learn about the future of technology but will also get the first-hand experience and enjoy the innovations in the field to robotics and virtual reality.

During the camp, we will be using platforms including EZ-Robot, Arduino, EV3 Mindstorms, KIBO, Minecraft with Java, and HTC VR to help students understand and learn the STEM concepts in a fun and engaging way.

We will have different activities each day, and as an add, a DIY project that kids can take home and share with parents, like an electric car, hovercraft, electric boats, paper circuits, traffic lights and more. Just to make sure they will get busy all the time.

There will be contest with small prizes and awards,

    Game-thon contest

    Robot-Got-Talent

    Robo Games Challenges

    Outdoor activities weather-permitted.

    and much more...

    Futuristic Camp Main Agenda

Day 1 (Monday): EZ-Robot Revolution: We will start off our camp with the exciting EZ-Robot to familiarize kids with the functionality of robots, the human-robot interface, robot communication and programming for face and voice recognition. Kids will get a basic understanding of robotics, microcontrollers, sensors, and electronics concepts.

Day 2 (Tuesday): Coding and Game Development: Kids will use their imagination to learn the basics of coding and programming through tools like Scratch and Phyton. They will create simple designs, animations, and games using their creativity and imagination. Along the way, they will learn about logic, problem-solving, and creative thinking.

Day 3 (Wednesday): Minecraft Programming: Our Minecraft adventure will involve diving into the concepts of coding through Java language. Kids will learn to develop their own creations by building mods and crafting things in Minecraft.

Day 4 (Thursday): Robo Games with EV3 Mindstorms: In this hands-on program, kids will build and design programmable robots; produce simple commands and sequences to control and operate the robot; and gain hands-on experience of using the mathematical concepts like estimating distance, speed, and time. The high-quality gears, motors, sensors, wheels, and axles will give kids the taste of real-world application of technology.

Day 5 (Friday): Virtual Reality and Game Arcade: Our camp will end with the most exciting thing on the block- Virtual Reality! Using our latest technology VR equipment, kids will get a basic understanding of the concepts of virtual reality and VR Gaming. Kids will enjoy the VR experience and immerse into the virtual world that almost feels like the real one.

Our camp will end with a graduation ceremony where kids will show off their creations!

    Key Learning Objectives:

    • Engaging and hands-on learning experience for kids to explore robotics,

    • Understand and explore the concepts of robotics, coding, game development, and engineering

    • Develop soft skills like creativity, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving
