We are proud to offer a world-class learning experience for adventurous boys and girls! We will be taking part of the Tall Ship Races 2018 in Scandinavia. These are divided into three legs as described. You can choose one, two, or all three of these legs! During this sail, students receive instruction in English and undertake team-building activities - all in all a well-rounded experience that will help cultivate confidence and leadership. With opportunities to witness incredible natural wonders, the camp places a strong emphasis on health, wellness, seamanship and geographical and geological history. With hands-on teamwork and decision-making, our shipboard environment offers a dramatic catalyst for personal development as well as real-life social and environmental choices. Students develop global networks and mature as people, giving them a deeper understanding of real leadership. On board, students learn basic seamanship and also enjoy extracurricular activities that further enhance communication skills while they make new friends. On shore, students learn from cultural, geographical and recreational activities selected to provide a well-rounded experience. At harbour, depending on which of the three organized races you join, there are organized excursions and events designed to enhance your cultural experience. We also offer combo discounts if you book more than one Voyage with us.
Voyage 2 - Esbjerg, Denmark to Stavanger, Norway
Join the Wylde Swan for the second race of the Tall Ships Races. Sail out of Stavanger in the Parade of Sails and embark on an exciting race between A-class vessels from many different countries. After crossing the finish line you will arrive in Harlingen where you will have the chance to participate in many port activities and the prize giving ceremony. Take part in Crew Parade and Crew Party to meet sailors from different vessels and exchange your experiences.
Stavanger is a modern port, but retains a small historic district. The lovely old harbour is a favourite stopover for big cruiseships that tower over the buildings. The city has a lively cultural scene, and is surrounded by numerous outdoor destinations well worth a visit. Explore the narrow, rocky Lysefjord and the mountains Preikestolen and Kjerag, or relax on beaches. Make sure to bring hiking boots, as the mountains stand over 1000 meters tall.
Harlingen is a trade and fishing port in Friesland, the Netherlands. The town itself is over a thousand years old, and you will find several historic streets in the old city centre. Its small size makes it easy to explore the town on foot. In 2014 Harlingen was a port of call for the Tall Ships Races. The town operates ferry lines to the Frisian Islands, a unique nature reserve with populations of seals, birds, and other wildlife. With its "gezellige" pubs the town is a great place for a stopover.
