The Intro to Whitewater program is aimed at young leaders who are looking to develop foundational whitewater paddling skills as well as pursue their own individual growth and character development. The group is co-educational and consists of approx. 8 people plus two leadership trainers.
This two-week leadership program focuses on grasping the basics of moving water paddling. Participants will learn river theory and become familiar with whitewater paddling techniques during the first week through day trips and short overnight trips, and will venture to a classic Ontario river for a multi-day whitewater canoe trip in the second week. This program is suited for adventurous young people who want to develop their leadership skills and technical paddling ability. In this program, participants will be supported to set and achieve personal goals in a whitewater environment. They will also be encouraged to actively reflect on themselves and their personal strengths, abilities, and areas for growth. This trip also has an emphasis on having fun and being active in the great outdoors!
