Leadership 1: Delaware (July 1-28, 2018 OR August 5-25, 2018)
For campers 15 years of age

It is a one month program (either July or August). The main focus of the program while at camp is to develop skills in variety of areas at camp. Dels will aim to achieve the highest level in at least one of the following activities: canoeing, kayaking, Art Lochead Sailing School or windsurfing. During the afternoons and evenings, Dels participate in activities with their group that develop their leadership and outdoors skills. Dels will also take a leadership role in several camp-wide activities throughout their stay. There are boy groups and girl groups each month, however the groups operate separately; the focus of the program is on group development within each Delaware group. 2 weeks are spent on a canoe trip in the Temagami region and the other 2 weeks are spent at CQE on Beausoleil Island.

Prerequisites: Participants must be 15 years old by December 31, 2018. It is recommended that participants have their Bronze Medallion swimming level, however this is not required.

High School Credit

YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth partners with the YMCA Academy www.ymcaacademy.org to offer an accredited Ontario high school credit within our month long and 3 week leadership programs: Delaware, LIT, and Venture LIT programs. The majority of the credit requirements will be completed by everyone in the Delaware, LIT, and Venture LIT programs, but will only be graded for credit participants. Participants in the high school credit program must also be registered in either our Leadership 1: Delaware Program or one of our Leadership 2 programs. This is not a stand alone program. Course outlines can be found on our website, and Strong Kids Financial Assistance is available to families who qualify. For more information, contact [email protected] for more details.
