Elementary Day Schools

Find a list of schools

Independent day schools are an excellent option for parents who want their children to have a rich, supportive, private school experience while remaining close to home.

Day programs, as the name suggests, are distinguished from boarding programs, with students attending during the day while living at home. They offer the benefits of a boarding environment, including world class academics, a wide range of extracurricular activities, and a rich academic culture. At schools that also offer boarding, day programs can provide an entrée to students in the early and middle years who intend to board during the secondary years.

Curricula and programs vary based on the type of school but can include everything from arts-focused to faith-based to Reggio-inspired methodologies, and AP, IB or international programs. Before and after school programs may also be available, plus tutoring and learning study assistance, and a range of activities, languages, humanities and social sciences, mathematics, natural sciences, technology, sports, arts and academic or social clubs.

Whether you’re looking for a Montessori school where creativity and self-expression is important, or a faith-based elementary day school, there are options available where your child can get the benefits of a private school education while remaining close to home.
