Proposed Fitness Tax Credit for 2007 February 15, 2007

Parents may be eligible for non-refundable tax credits of up to $500 per child for each child (under the age of 16) registered in a program of significant physical activity. The Government of Canada is developing legislation that will define guidelines for eligible programs. The Expert Panel on the Children's Fitness Tax Credit has made recommendations that camp programs be eligible and it is likely that a majority of them will qualify.
