The 5th Annual Toronto Private School Fair, held on Saturday, October 27th at Roy Thomson Hall was an overwhelming success. Information seeking families kept 70 private school exhibitors and their representatives busy from start to finish of the four-hour show. Highlighting the keen, and growing, interest in private education, Global-TV covered the Toronto Fair for their six o’clock and eleven o’clock newscasts.

The Toronto Fair was a great opportunity for parents to meet with leading private and independent schools, and to also gain valuable information from current students and other families. Exhibiting schools came from Toronto and area, other regions of Ontario, B.C., Quebec, Nova Scotia and United States. As well, schools offering international programs and several school associations were also in attendance. A number of schools exhibited at both the Toronto Fair and the earlier October 14th Oakville Private School Fair

Families appreciated the quality of the show, the booth presentations and the schools that exhibited. One family approached us and commented "this show is very professionally run and we appreciate having the opportunity to speak with so many schools in one visit, you did a great job!" Virtually all felt the Fair was very worthwhile and valuable in helping them explore private school options for their children. While most parents came on their own, many brought their kids along.

Both the Oakville and Toronto Fairs were very well organized. Exhibiting schools found the venues attractive and comfortable, creating a welcoming environment for parents eager to learn more about all of the schools. "The fair was very well organized and the staff were helpful and attentive to everyones needs" praised one exhibiting school.

Looking toward next year, Our Kids Publications Ltd. plans to host the Toronto show, once again, at Roy Thomson Hall and to expand the Oakville show with more exhibiting schools from the Halton region, including Mississauga, Burlington, Waterdown, Hamilton and Milton.
