Getting hired in Ontario private schools

To get jobs in Montessori schools you are required to be Montessori certified. All Ontario schools require teacher certification. For some Christian and smaller private schools, you may not need Ontario certification as long as you are certified by some province or state.

In general, private schools offer a safer, more focused learning environment than what you might find in most public schools. Many private schools will only hire highly qualified, experienced instructors and will pay them accordingly. On the other hand, though, many private Christian schools only take teachers who profess the Christian religion even though they may not be fully qualified.
