Christian Boarding Schools

Find a list of schools

Give your child a double immersion - in academics and in the Christian religion - with enrollment in a Christian boarding school. Christian boarding schools are academically rigorous, as they have dual curricula: religious and general subjects (i.e. English, math, science, French). Enrolling your son or daughter in a Christian boarding school offers him or her an ideal environment for both learning and spiritual growth. Whether your child is a committed Christian or perhaps showing signs of "slipping," one of these institutions will help guide him or her down a path of self-exploration and critical thought. Christian boarding schools are a great way to strengthen a child’s Christian faith. Parents worried about errant children might also consider troubled teens schools.

Christian Boarding Schools

Christian boarding schools offer a Christ-centered education that will provide a strong foundation for your child as he or she makes their way through contemporary adult life. Boarding schools also offer the challenges and discipline that give and maintain direction for children.

Many Christian private and boarding schools offer ministry programs where students can reach out to others in service projects that will help them grow as young Christians. Such programs can help your child discover more about himself or herself, growing in both personal faith and self-confidence.

Cultivating a Christian Identity

Boarding school fosters a Christian identity in all aspects of one’s life. Education extends beyond the classroom. Boarding school students encourage each other to stay on task and discuss classroom material at all hours of the day. As such, your child will constantly be surrounded by fellow Christians, sharing a social environment with like-minded individuals of the same faith.

Anna, a graduate of an Ontario Christian boarding school puts it this way: "Christian school taught me respect for others and acceptance of different perspectives. There was a clear sense of community and belonging. We always had somewhere to go when it was necessary."

The schools listed here at Our Kids have numerous testimonials from students who have gone on to impressive heights thanks to the discipline they learned and excellent education that they received in a Christian boarding school. Students from such schools are known to perform very well in university and on standardized tests (i.e. LSAT). Consult our listings below to contact school representatives for yourself.

Paying for a Christian Boarding School

Many Canadian provinces will help you pay for a Christian boarding school. Tuition for these institutions might count as a charitable donation for which you will receive tax breaks. Plenty of private Christian boarding schools offer both scholarships and financial aid. Flexible payment plans (i.e. paying tuition over longer installments) might also be available.
