At one time Canada had more military schools and colleges, including Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in Kingston, Royal Roads Military College (RRMC) in Victoria, BC, and the Collège Militaire Royal de Saint-Jean (CMR) in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec. These were all university level academies. However, in the mid 1990's, the latter two were closed due to budgetary limitations. In the meantime, though, they have both been reopened as civilian education institutions while Royal Military College of Canada continued offering a preparatory year for military students. In 2008, CMR Saint-Jean was reopened as a full military academy; you can learn more here.

However, you need to consider, as a parent, whether you are simply "passing the buck" and if you want to consider other steps to helping your child, other than military school.
