The Buffalo Seminary chapter of the Cum Laude Society inducted seven seniors into the national organization on Thursday, December 11, 2014.
The Class of 2015 students recognized are Gabriella (Abby) Alfano, Maria Victoria (Marivi) Howell-Arza, Gina (Tory) Igoe, Anna Magavern, Megan Mazurkiewicz, Mariah Reinard, and Ying Zhang.

Megan, who is a championship bowler, golfer, and archer, will study engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall of 2015.
Marivi is currently Miss Empire Star and will advance to the Miss New York State pageant in June, 2015. Her competition platform is “Lady Liberty’s Lamp: Lighting the Way to the American Dream,” which promotes services for refugees and immigrants and intercultural education and acceptance. She will attend Duke University in the fall of 2015.
Anna Magavern a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist and has also been awarded First Team honors on Business First's 2015 "All-Western New York Academic Team." Anna is SEMINARIA (yearbook) editor, a dancer with Neglia Ballet Artists, and will attend Brown University in the fall of 2015.
The Cum Laude Society recognizes academic achievement for the purpose of promoting excellence (Areté), justice (Diké) and honor (Timé). A school's chapter may elect up to 20% of the members of its senior class.
Dr. Sara Sieczkarski awarded each girl with a pin and certificate. This represents the highest academic honor awarded at SEM. These students maintained excellent grades while taking mostly honors and AP level courses throughout the past four years.
