Concussion Presentation
Today our grade 4-8 students had the privilege of learning about the severity of concussions to your brain from Neuroscience students from Queens University. Students learned how to label a brain using balloons and understand the importance of each section of your brain. The presentation was very informative and gave our students a better understand of how important it is to take care of your head while participating in sports by using proper gear like helmets.
Students got to engage with manipulatives in order to learn about the dynamics of concussion injuries. They learned about proper healing and recovering strategies as well as preventative measures used in order to stop a concussion before it can occur. Queen's University students actively drew on audience members in order to illustrate important points about the presentation. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and voice their concerns about these devestating brain injuries.
Thanks Queens University for the great lesson!
