JK/SK Plant Presentation: Wednesday April 12th
Today the Junior and Senior Kindergarten classes participated in the "Grow a Seed" program where they grew their very own, 100% organic, Microgreens! We learned that, just like the largest animals in the world, we need to eat lots of "plants" in order to get big and strong. We also learned that Microgreens have 39x more nutrients than regularly grown plants and vegetables. We were able to demonstrate our knowledge of what plants need, and the parts of a plant by getting our hands dirty breaking up our "core" made from coconut, and preparing the bed for our baby seeds. We planted Broccoli, Oriental Mustard, Speckled Peas and Daikon Radish! We can't wait to harvest them in 8-12 days!
Great Gilaguchi Hunt
On Thursday April 13th, classes were involved in our very own Easter hunt for Great Gillaguchi eggs! Eggs and other surprises were hidden throughout the school, with all student participating in the hunt. The Gillauchi is a Glenn Arbour tradition, kicked off by the Grade 3 class, who created this fictional Easter character to celebrate the Easter holiday. Happy hunting GAA!
