On November 20, 2014, Havergal hosted the event Havergal at Koerner Hall, which highlighted the importance of the arts at Havergal throughout our 120-year history and showcased the outstanding talents of our faculty and students of all ages in band, strings and vocal music, the Dance Troupe and the Fine Art and Drama programs. It was an outstanding show!
The evening's program included a set by special a guest artist: renowned jazz musician and Old Girl Carol Welsman 1978! Carol performed with recent alumna Ariel Shetzen 2013, who is currently studying jazz music performance at the University of Toronto. Accompanying these two singers were Ms. Welsman's band and some of our very own Havergal faculty: Paul McCulloch and Kevin Walsh.
The opportunity to participate in so many art forms at Havergal has a significant and lasting impact on our students as well as on the lives of those who teach and learn here. We thank everyone who participated in, volunteered at and attended the event for supporting the arts at Havergal.
