Please join us for the 2015 Speaker Series, an evening on The Child's Brain and the Impact of Concussion.

Three eminent guest speakers will be at KCS to present information and answer your questions.

Michelle Keightley, Ph.D., C. Psych.
Director, Concussion Research Centre
Senior Clinician & Scientist, Holland Family Chair in Acquired Brain Injury, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Associate Professor, Department of Occupational Therapy, University of Toronto

Robin Green, Ph.D., C. Psych.
Senior Clinician & Scientist,  Toronto Rehabilitation Institute
Associate Professor, Department of Neuropsychiatry & Neuroscience, University of Toronto

Gabriela Ilie, Ph.D.
Scientist in Neuropsychology,  Injury Prevention Research Office, Division of Neurosurgery, St. Michael's Hospital

Topics of discussion will include:

  • normal brain function, memory, concentration and attention in children from 3-14 years
  • what is a concussion
  • recognition and diagnosis
  • distinction between mild and severe concussion
  • recovery and treatment
  • risk factors and vulnerability
  • possible mental health issues
  • baseline testing research
