Perfect weather. Challenging course. A spectacular week for a BMX Camp out at Quetico College School. Every rider who attended wrote a list of tricks the first day they arrived that included everything they'd like to be able to learn during the week. By the end of the week, every rider had not only achieved everything on their list, but more. The head instructor, pro rider Justin Soares, made it seem easy. Quetico is the perfect place for a camp like this: if it gets too hot and a break is needed, Eva Lake is ready with a great spot for swimming and trying bike flips off the end of the dock. This is the third year that a competition has taken place on the last day of the camp, drawing riders from across Northwestern Ontario to try for personal bests and moments of spectacular manoeuvres. Scott Bursey did not disappoint, racking up a final score of 90 that included a very long list of tricks in fast paced runs on a course that challenged his skills. If you missed it, be sure to include the camp or the event in your plans next summer.
