Waldorf Class of 2014 changing the world!

Laura Gordon Mitchell
Laura attended Greenwood College and was the valedictorian. She is going into Sociology at UBC (Bachelor of Arts) and plans to specialize in medical ethics.  She won the Tuum Est Experiential Award at UBC which is a fund for research later on in her degree and won the Gold Duke of Edinburgh!
Olivia Kerr
Olivia was accepted to the first year program “Dalhousie Integrated Science” which is an intensive science program for 70 kids, and then will go into the neuroscience program.  She turned down 1.1 million in scholarship offers to art schools across North America. She has a website for her artwork Olivia kerr.ca  Olivia attended ESA and is a competitive swimmer. Her grade 8 project was on animal rights and veganism.
Congratulations Olivia- you break the image of art in opposition to science!

Bianca Iddiols
Bianca Iddiols has recently graduated with Distinction from Havergal College and has received offers of admission from all the universities to which she has applied along with $12,000 in entrance and faculty scholarships. She has decided to attend the University of Western Ontario this September to study Psychology with the intention of ultimately pursuing a degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on psychoanalytic therapy. In her time at Havergal, Bianca was voted to the leadership position of House Captain and launched a school-based social media site. Bianca also competed throughout her time in high school in the equestrian sport of Eventing, finishing as Champion in the Young Riders of Ontario Challenge Series in Preliminary in 2017, and successfully competing at both an International CIC* and a CCI* in the U.S.  While at Western, Bianca hopes to continue her riding and competing through the Ontario University Equestrian Association. 

Samuel Masse:
2018-19 Gap Year:  Travel to France and apprenticeship in Toronto
Graduated from Rosedale Heights and played bass violin in the school orchestra.  He'll be continuing to work at The Meat Department, apprenticing with Herbert Barsteiner at Barnsteiner's (restaurant at Yonge and St Clair). Herbert was the owner of The Corner House back in the old days besides Waldorf Academy. Samuel will be spending some time with his brother(also a graduate from Waldorf Academy) in France (Pierre is applying to do a PhD in acoustics/musicology) and then applying to George Brown's chef school for 2019-20. Samuel for his grade 8 projects presented a cooking show based on the 4 elements. Congratulations Sam! We look forward to saying we know that famous chef!!

Theodora Till
Theodora Till is attending Huron College at Western University and received a generous scholarship. She will be taking English and Cultural Studies with a minor in a new program being developed at Huron called Governance and Ethics. She was a member of the Student Council for the last two years of high school. During her high school years at Blyth Academy, she volunteered with Plan's Because I am a Girl and was selected to be interviewed by CTV/CP24 and Huffington Post on International Woman's Day and be a part of their #LiftHerUp social media campaign. Every time she enters Waldorf Academy she can't imagine why a parent wouldn't want to send their child here! We encourage Theodora to keep telling that to parents! Congratulations Theodora! Theo's grade 8 project was on Girl's Rights to education in Pakistan.
