For well over a century, SMLS has been providing the educational journey of a lifetime for girls, and is recognized as one of the premier independent schools in the country, offering education from JK to University Entrance. At SMLS, programs are planned around the learning needs and preferences of girls. There is a growing body of research to suggest that girls’ brains develop differently from boys’ brains and when learning takes these differences into account, girls are more likely to achieve their full potential. SMLS’ strong academic program is designed to develop critical thinking, problem solving, cooperation, flexibility, adaptability, communication skills and the ability to use new technologies. With its state-of-the-art Athletic and Fitness Facility, Performance Studio Theatre and Visual Arts Centre, students experience enriched programming. Advanced Placement courses are offered in art history, art studio, biology, calculus, chemistry, language and composition, literature, French, Mandarin, physics as well as SAT preparation, focused support for the achievement of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program (Round Square regional member) and participation in the First LEGO® League/FIRST Robotics programs. We offer opportunities to work with our Sister Schools located throughout the world.
