Zao (pronounced Z-ah-oh) is an unforgettable experience! Three different adventures, intertwined in God’s incredible creation help us write the amazing story of our most unique camp! Campers will choose one of the following tracks to focus on in their time with us, but will also have a track mix-up time to try the other ones.

  • Ride:  Build a relationship with a horse assigned to you for the week. Learn to do ground work, care for and ride your horse and discover what horses can teach you about yourself and the world around you!
  • Paddle:  Discover amazing community and adventure as you learn to paddle a tandem (2-person) canoe, first on Crimson Lake, then on the mighty North Saskatchewan River. Through mountains and valleys, rapids and eddies, experience the thrill of moving water paddling with old and new friends in this exciting stream (pun intended!).
  • Zoom:  This is a fine arts (photography, painting, sketching) experience like no other! The Visual Arts are the tools on this quest to capture the beauty and reality of life around us. Zoom is all about taking time to stop and focus in on a particular fine arts skill or piece of creation, to notice details and to capture them in a visual medium as a way of story-telling. Days are spent exploring and honing the various techniques of photography, painting and sketching. Evenings are spent sharing work, stories and laughter.

The fun continues with wide games, swimming, a chance to try the climbing wall, archery range or canoeing, all while focusing on spiritual development as we seek God’s character revealed to us in creation, Bible study and each other. There will be an overnight camp out on the land, and lots of learning. Whichever track you choose, Zao is an adventure in living fully, facing challenges and truly loving. ZAO means to live!
