March Break Animation Boot Camp (In-Person)

The APW Online Animation Boot Camp offers a week-long, action-packed introduction to hand-drawn animation (Animation Basics) and character design (Character Basics). Choose between our March Break and Summer Camp.
The Boot Camp is suitable for anyone 14 years old or older. 

Our bootcamp consists of two modules: Animation Basics and Character Design Basics.

With the Animation Basics, get a work out in the basics of hand drawn animation. Simple exercises built on squash and stretch, action breakdown, arcs and timing will help you build a concrete approach to hand-drawn animation.  Come prepared to do a lot of drawing.
With the Character Design Basics, design and draw animation characters with an inner structure that is flexible and movable. Twist and stretch characters into any pose from any angle. Using reference and a live (costumed) model, study existing characters and design your very own.

One day of classes has a three hour Animation Basics class, a lunch break and a three hour Character Design Basics class.
