Owner of The Art Academy at Art-Kitect, Elissa Del Bel Belluz, credits her immense success as an artist to the inspiration, guidance, and support she received as a child from a special mentor. As an internationally recognized and award-winning artist, she wanted to do the same for other children. So she opened The Art Academy at Art-Kitect. She believes art is not just important as an avenue for personal expression, but it’s also a life-long skill that can be carried from childhood into adulthood. All levels of artists are welcome and the step-by-step instruction ensures an ease of learning, but the instructors also make a point to make it fun. Students learn a variety of artistic styles and mediums and are moved up once their skill level increases. Del Bel Belluz encourages students to enter art competitions to build their confidence, as she did as a child, which is where she found her first successes as an artist. Instructors are practicing artists who are thoughtful and knowledgeable and tailor their lessons to play to the strengths of each individual. This isn’t your average arts and crafts school—the tailored programming, along with portfolio reviews and interview prep mean students can pursue further post-secondary education and careers in art after attending The Art Academy at Art-Kitect.
