Advanced/ Teens Art Class

The Art Academy at Art-Kitect introduces students to all aspects of the world around them. This program is unique to the area. Our trained and meticulous staff will safely walk to all local schools in our neighbourhood; pickup our students at 3:15. PM; walk them back to our studio; have snack and water; play a social game; followed by a 1-hour art lesson. Pickup by parents is 5:20 PM. This gives the parents in our community two more hours to their day. This is our most popular program by far and sells out every year. In this class we teach art through the analysis of environment in terms of color, light, line, texture and space, to develop an increased visual awareness and sensitivity which reflects in our artwork. In this class children will learn about color theory, different artists past and present, and how to use a variety of mediums. Painting is a great way for children to convey ideas, express emotion, use their senses, explore color, explore process and outcomes and explore touch. Each class will focus on an artist, a movement or a technique.
