Public speaking is a life skill. In order to speak clearly, confidently, and persuasively, young people must practice. This practice will help students ask questions in class, engage with peers, and give presentations. It will help them ace job interviews, and advocate for themselves in the workforce.
Our public speaking program will be taught through a mix of interactive seminars and activities. Students will learn how to deliver different types of speeches, how to prepare for speeches and presentations, and how to engage their audience. This class will have many games to get everyone talking and hopefully be a fun time!
Students in the public speaking classes will have the chance to try…
- Impromptu speaking
- Persuasive speaking
- After-dinner speaking
- Interpretive reading
- Informal debating
Shy students will benefit from practicing these skills in a supportive setting, while keen speakers will enjoy new challenges that could help them prepare to enter competitive speaking and debating competitions in the future!
