Embark in Toronto, Ontario and disembark in Kincardine, Ontario. Ask about group travel to and from ship.
The Fair Jeanne is a 110' tall ship welcoming you to step aboard, throw off the bow lines and chart your way for adventure. Each voyage starts with icebreaker games and a safety orientation session. You will learn to sail and helm (that means steer), to climb aloft and set the sails, to learn about navigation and the weather. You will swim, play games, meet new friends and challenge yourself to try something new almost every day. It's true, as a member of the crew you do need to help with shipboard maintenance but the fun and games, and the music during Captain's clean up, make it all worth it.
While sleep is important you will have a turn at night watch (everyone loves it) and experience spectacular sailing from Lake Ontario, through Lake Erie and into Lake Huron. This Fair Jeanne voyage will include participation in the Toronto Redpath Waterpath Festival and the Cleveland Tall Ships Festival, where you will participate in games and activities ashore, deck tours on Fair Jeanne and have the opportunity to visit other tall ships. This is a high school credit voyage so come prepared to earn grade 11 Healthy Active Living in a pretty cool environment with interesting field trips. Safe manning crew are Transport Canada certified and our junior youth crew have logged over 200 nautical miles aboard one of the ships.
All Fair Jeanne voyages qualify as a Duke of Edinburgh Award Adventurous Journey.
