CAC Leadership Two Program

CAC'S NEW YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Our Youth Leadership Program is comprised of 3 stages - Leadership One (16 years), Leadership Two (17 years), and Junior Staff (18 years). It has all the great things that were part of the former Leader in Training program, plus more! The journey from camper to staff now occurs over a longer period of time, allowing for more focused leadership development at each stage.

SECOND STAGE IN THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

This course is similar to the (now replaced) Leader in Training program and with more flexibility for participants to meet their personal goals with newly developed course content.

Leadership Two is a four-week course with opportunities to extend to six or eight weeks to further develop their leadership skill-set.

Individuals will spend each day fully immersed in the course including theory lessons, opportunities to lead activities, and live in a camper cabin as a co-leader.

Campers will be invited to interview for Leadership Two upon completion of Leadership One

WORK CLOSELY AS A TEAM

The group completing the course will form a tight knit connection by learning and growing together. To establish strong bonds in the group, our course includes a 4-5 day canoe trip around beautiful Lake Temagami.

PREREQUESITE FOR JUNIOR STAFF 

Leadership Two is a prerequisite for a Junior Staff position as either a junior counsellor or a junior coach. Individuals will only be eligible to interview for a junior staff position at age 18 if they have completed Leadership Two.

CAREFULLY DEVELOPED COURSE CONTENT - BOTH HARD AND SOFT SKILLS WILL BE LEARNED THROUGHOUT THE COURSE

Hard skills include a choice of:

• Outdoor Education
• The Arts
• Land Sports
• Gymnastics, Aerials, or Trampoline
• Waterski/Wakeboarding

Soft skills will include:

• Goal Setting
• Communication Skills
• Planning & Organization
• Child & Youth Development
• Leadership Styles
• And More!

• July 4 - July 31
• August 1 - August 28
