Build confidence with a drama or improv activity
Hit the stage!
Encourage your child to explore and shed any feelings of shyness or self-doubt that are holding them back with a year-round drama or improv program.
These programs will give participants the opportunity to jump into the world of visual or performing arts, and find a sense of self-confidence after hitting the stage! Drama and improv teach important situational lessons, while exposing children to different historical time periods and cultures from around the world. Through the world of drama and improv children will begin to gain a sense of empathy for others and will increase their emotional intelligence.
Taking a drama or improv course helps children think outside of the box and helps them find their sense of individuality and uniqueness so they can stand out in the crowd. They’ll also be learning and building teamwork skills throughout the program. Kids in drama and improv programs learn how to take risks throughout the year, gaining an increased level of self-confidence, and they have fun and create strong friendships and lasting memories through it all!
Did you know, drama activities improve communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal) as well as reading comprehension? With the memorization of lines (or needing to think on their feet with improv) participants develop strong and clear communication skills.
Drama and improv programs include a number of activities, like:
- Film
- Television
- Sketch comedy
- Dramatic sketches
- Stage/theatre productions
- Music theatre/Broadway productions
- Improvisation
- Stand-up
- Writing
- Set, costume and make-up design
- And more
Whether your child is a beginner or is looking for advanced programs, there are drama/improv opportunities available for everyone, throughout the year. Find an afterschool or weekend program near you.
