Advanced writing skills have never been more valuable for students--whatever they plan to study at university. The ability to express oneself clearly in writing sets one apart in any academic (or workplace) setting.
Many American universities recognize this by requiring candidates for admission to write a personal essay. More importantly, all universities value clarity of thinking and expression. So, whatever the post-secondary ambitions of your teen, this course is designed to help them develop their skills in writing--with the demands of the personal essay very much in mind.
Class size is kept small to ensure that students get individual attention and support with their work.
This course will focus on:
Writing to mount an effective argument
- Using classification
- Using a cause and effect structure
- Using comparison and contrast
