Debate is the act of formal disagreement and is a subject that lies at the core of FDT’s curriculum. It is the same activity that has sharpened the minds of influential people such as Nelson Mandela, Margaret Thatcher, and Oprah Winfrey. Going beyond just teaching students how to form arguments, FDT encourages students to learn how to use rhetoric and evidence through debate, forming a skillset that allows them to succeed in their future academic and professional careers. At FDT, students are able to take the skills they learn in the classroom to tournaments we offer locally, nationally or even internationally in countries such as the United States, Great Britain, the Czech Republic and Thailand.
Students can register for either one or all five of our Spring Debate Camp lessons. These group lessons range in size, with approximately one teacher for every five students. The camp is split off based on students' experience levels and tournament needs, to ensure that students get the most out of each 4-hour session. Camps are uniquely valuable because they provide students with a high quantity of teaching and practice hours within a few days. Anyone is able to attend FDT's camps; please contact [email protected] to register!
