About this Overnight Camp

Fraser Lake Camp - LIT

This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Physicality: During LIT a camper will spend most of their days canoeing and portaging, a physically demanding but rewarding task.
  • Resilience: LIT will provide the opportunity for campers to learn to handle setbacks and adversity, to remain optimistic when taking on a challenge

The LIT (Leaders in training) program at FLC is a chance for youth to experience a canoe trip with their peers. 

It is a two-week program with a few days before the trip to allow for training and the group to be acquainted. The days spent in Algonquin park goes as follows; 

  • Wake up 
  • Make breakfast 
  • Pack up supplies
  • Leave campsite in canoes
  • Paddle and portage to the next campsite, stopping for lunch and snacks
  • Arrive at campsite for the night
  • Set up tents, water, tarps etc. for the night 
  • Make dinner
  • Spend the rest of the night hanging out at campsite

Along the trip campers are given opportunities to use their leadership skills to lead the group through tier adventure.
