Chess Girl Course 1

Course 1 introduces the fundamentals of chess for girls to learn how to approach the game strategically. They will learn how to attack safely, defend, checkmate, open their game, and tactics such as two-fold attack and promotion. The girls will receive digital workbooks and learn notation to solve the puzzles. By the end, they'll understand all chess rules and how to reach checkmate.

Course Prerequisites: Before taking Course 1, students should already understand how to move all the pieces on the board. Not ready for Course 1? Take our Chess For Beginners Course instead. 

We use the chessboard to teach girls about life, showing how the lessons learned in chess transfer to real-life situations. In addition, we teach every girl to be confident, resilient and determined, ready to take on the world of tomorrow! We help girls understand what they’re up against, and we teach them everything they need to thrive, own their power and bring down the systems that attempt to undermine them.
