This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Curiosity: Campers will learn about Celtic cultural practices around winter celebrations. Celtic Christmas Day Camp will spark curiosity in campers, allowing them to explore, try new things, and discover answers to questions they didn't know they had.
  • Physicality: Campers will be on the move throughout the day. Irish dancing is physical and fun. Rooted in rhythm, campers will come away tapping their feet and moving their bodies!

Learn more about winter celebrations in the Celtic world - holly, mistletoe, the wren boys - all of them rooted in the growing cycle of the year.  Campers will participate in group dances, create various crafts.  The day starts with rhythm lessons and a brain-based warm-up.  Then we dive into dance, music, and games.  Each afternoon, campers will participate in tin whistle lessons and make a holiday-themed craft.  Every camper will also receive an Irish tin whistle to take home at the end of camp!
