Intro to Coding – Build Games with Scratch

An exciting, hands-on, fun summer camp that introduces kids to the fascinating world of coding. Using a visual block-based coding platform called Scratch developed by MIT for kids, campers will get familiar with coding concepts such as sequencing, loops, events, conditionals and variables. Using these concepts, they will build their own games every day of the camp!

Following is the grade and age requirement for this group. They’ll be guided by an instructor who is well-versed in educating young children and have expert hands-on knowledge of Scratch tool at the same time.

Jedi Masters: Age 8-12 (Grade 3-6)

What Will Campers Learn:

On Day 1 campers will learn and get familiar with Scratch and all the powerful tools it offers. Day 2 onward, campers will start building real games! Each week will have a separate theme like ‘Wizards & Witches’, ‘Superheroes’ and ‘Star Wars’. Kids will build fun and exciting games using Scratch and its various tools based on the theme of the week. They will get familiar with coding concepts such as sequencing, loops, events, conditionals and variables by working hands-on under the guidance of an expert instructor.

Camp Dates:

July 13 – 17 (Theme: Wizards & Witches)  
July 20 – 24 (Theme: Superheroes) 
July 27 – 31 (Theme: Star Wars)

July 27-31: 11 AM - 12.30 PM EDT (FULL), 2 PM - 3.30 PM EDT (OPEN), 6 PM – 7.30 PM EDT (FULL)
